Apologies for being out of touch for a while. Things have been crazy busy at GlobalPost and I am preparing for a trip to Afghanistan and Pakistan which has added to a typically insane workload.
I will be heading out to a refresher course in “hostile environment” training which is a strange pre-requisite of reporting in AfPak these days. I will give you an update from the training facility at the end of this week. The situation in Pakistan and in Afghanistan is heating up and growing increasingly complex. Some of the best analysis I have ever heard on the situation on the ground in Pakistan came from our correspondent Shahan Mufti in his recent appearance on Bill Moyers’ Journal on PBS.

I look forward to seeing more GlobalPost coverage of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Quality reporting is what turned my attention and compassion to the situation in Pakistan. Specifically, it was Frontline’s powerful documentary, “Pakistan: State of Emergency”
